The Bullitt Foundation is in the process of revising its grantmaking priorities and procedures. Please follow these directions even if you have applied for or received a Bullitt Foundation grant in the past.
To determine your eligibility for a Bullitt Foundation grant, please complete our Proposal Inquiry form, answering all questions completely but with the understanding that brevity is appreciated. A program officer will review your entries and may contact you to discuss the idea in more detail.

Objectives

Defend natural areas from the impacts of urban growth and other sources of disturbance.

Safeguard the beauty, natural wealth, and recreational opportunities distinctive to the region.
- Ensure that commercial forests and grasslands are utilized in a sustainable fashion in harmony with ecological principles.

Safeguard Northwest wild lands, including the establishment and proper management of parks and protected areas.

Maintain healthy habitats for native species.

Encourage public and private land management that protects and restores the soils, waters, and diverse ecological values of the region's forests, grasslands, and deserts.

Ensure protection of greenbelts and other open space resources for people and wildlife in urban or urbanizing areas.
Tactics

Support economic incentives for practices that sustain ecosystem health.

Conduct oversight of agency actions, and pursue appeals or litigation when necessary.

Foster effective environmental coalitions and issue campaigns.

Build broad grassroots constituencies and powerful alliances in support of environmental protection.

Develop effective public messages and cultivate print and broadcast media coverage of key issues.
